John PlattTravel Scholarship

John Platt Chairman Cheshire Agricultural Society

The Cheshire Agricultural Society are offering a £2,000 travel scholarship to any young person (aged 18 – 35) residing or working in the county of Cheshire, who wishes to improve their education and/or experience through an opportunity to travel.

The John Platt Travel Scholarship has been created in recognition of John Platt, OBE, DL, Hon DSc, FRAgS, who has, and continues to, support the thriving agricultural community of Cheshire through his many roles within the county. He retains a keen interest in the development of young farmers and young people in the industry as a whole. He has chaired the Cheshire Agricultural Society for nearly 30 years and co-ordinates the Cheshire County Show. John, himself a keen traveller, believes that much of his personal and professional success is attributed to having had the opportunity to travel and discover new horizons.
