FAMILIES tightening their belts due to the credit crunch can still enjoy an action packed exciting day out within budget. Tickets are now on sale for the two-day Cheshire County Show at the Tabley Showground, near Knutsford, on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 17 and 18. For the first time organisers are selling family tickets on the gate at the Show, as well as in advance via the ticket hotline. Executive director Nigel Evans said: “We are aware it is difficult for families in the current economic climate but our family tickets offer an affordable day out. The Show is great fun but more importantly an educational experience for children to learn about their county’s heritage. “Family tickets have previously only been available in advance but for the first time this year we are selling family tickets on the gate. Children under five have, as always, free entry.” From extreme motorcycle displays to soaring birds of prey and thousands of animals small and large - everyone’s guaranteed to go home with a new experience, even the most extreme of thrill-seekers. Special guests at this year’s show are celebrity botanist David Bellamy, who will be enchanting crowds with his colourful tales, and TV chef Kevin Woodford will be wowing crowds with his culinary talents in the Roberts Bakery Food Hall. This year’s attractions include the ultimate bird of prey handling experience The Eagle and Vulture Show, the UK’s number one extreme motorcycle display team the Bold Dog Lings, Pony Club Games, heavy horses, Parade of Hounds, Cheshire Polo Club and a marching band. Advanced tickets are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 0845 1249822 or from most Cheshire County Council libraries. Advanced tickets are priced £11 for adults, senior citizens £8.50, children £5 and £28 for a family of two adults and two children, and children aged under five are free. Show membership is available at £35 for first year members and £30 for repeat membership. |
