Top Gear’s Arctic record breaking Toyota Hilux comes to Cheshire Show PDF Print E-mail

THE world record breaking Toyota Hilux 4x4, which became the first car ever to reach the North Pole in BBC Top Gear’s Arctic Challenge, is set to wow crowds at this year’s Cheshire County Show.

After being driven by Top Gear presenters Jeremy Clarkson and James May on a 320-nautical mile trip across one of the world’s toughest environments, the Toyotal Hilux will be basking in the sunshine for visitors to see.

Cheshire fields will be a stark contrast to the terrain it was driven across to reach the magnetic North Pole during the seven day expedition by the Top Gear team.

Cheshire Show executive director Nigel Evans said: “Having watched the North Pole expedition on Top Gear I can’t wait to see the record-breaking car. Thanks to Oakmere Toyota for making it possible, I’m sure it will be a big attraction for visitors.”

Mike Hughes, general manager at Oakmere Toyota, said: “The customised Hilux is a magnificent car. It’s fascinating knowing where it has been and what it has achieved.

“The Cheshire Show is a great event for us to be able to show it at.”
