A CHESHIRE ice cream farm is producing a customised lip-smacking flavour for the Cheshire County Show to celebrate the county’s success as a leading dairy producer. For the first time Cheshire Farm Ice Cream based at Tattenhall, near Chester, will be supplying ice cream to food outlets at the two-day show on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 17 and 18. Cheshire Farm, which produces more than 30 tempting flavours, has created a limited edition ‘Cheshire Show’ flavour to sell at the Show made from the milk and cream produced by the 300 dairy cow herd.
Creator Jonathan Fell, of Cheshire Farm Ice Cream, said: “We are delighted to be involved with the Cheshire County Show. As one of the largest dairy producers in the county it is the perfect event for us to supply ice cream to. “We decided to produce the Cheshire Show ice cream as a celebration of Cheshire’s thriving dairy industry, which the Cheshire Show is a major showcase for.” As the county’s leading agricultural organisation the Cheshire County Show is dedicated to supporting the dairy industry and to show this it is only selling locally produced dairy-based ice cream at the Show. “As official taster, I have been allowed a preview of the special Cheshire Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream,” joked Mrs Diana McConnell, Lady Patroness of the Cheshire Show this year, “It’s absolutely delicious!” “As a leading dairy county it is vital that the Show is used to promote and support local farmers and food producers. Cheshire Farm Ice Cream is one of the highly successful examples of diversification in farming in Cheshire.” Ice cream has been produced at the Tattenhall farm for more than 20 years since Jonathan’s parents Tom and Margaret Fell decided to branch out and add value to their high quality milk and cream. Their ice cream parlour, one of the largest in the country, attracts more than a quarter of a million visitors annually and offers free tastings from their choice of 30 flavours. |
