Planning is now under way for a range of exciting attractions at the 2011 Cheshire County Show. Please revisit this page from early next year to find out what visitors will be able to look forward to.
Some of the fantastic attractions at the 2010 Cheshire County Show included:
Bolddog Freestyle Motorcross Team - Main Ring (Tuesday and Wednesday, June 22 and 23)
Back by Popular Demand!
Honda’s official and the UK’s number one motorcycle display team, the Bolddog team base their show around the world’s largest and most sophisticated mobile landing system.
They made a big impression last time they were at the Cheshire Show and are back by popular demand.
The show features the UK’s top ranked freestyle motocross riders, incorporating the latest heart stopping tricks as usually only seen on TV. You can listen to an informative on board commentary by the riders even talking to the crowd while performing a trick flying 35ft in the air.
Between displays the public are invited to the interactive stand where they can get a closer look at the bikes and meet the riders. A complete package to give value both on and off the machines.
This team will not be beaten on entertainment. They strive to ensure the crowds are left mind blown and thoroughly entertained. You can watch a short video of some of their stunts below.
Gauntlet Bird of Prey – Main Ring (Tuesday and Wednesday, June 22 and 23)
Gauntlet Birds of Prey, Eagle and Vulture Park, at Knutsford, is Cheshire's original and largest falconry centre, with the biggest collection of birds of prey in the North West. The centre has a large collection of eagles, vultures, falcons, kites, hawks and owls. A selection of the birds will be on show in the Main Ring for spectators to watch the majestic birds in full flight with commentry from the Gauntlet Birds of Prey team. This year's main ring attractions are brought to you courtesy of Sibelco UK.
Band of the Brigade of Gurkha’s
The Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas will perform a mixture of well known classics and more traditional Nepali music at this year’s show.
Some of band’s routines will incorporate the famous kukri knife that is synonymous with the Gurkhas.
The band is based in Shorncliffe, near Folkestone, and has performed all over the world in recent years including Australia, Canada, South Korea, and Nepal.
Meirion Owen & The Quack Pack
Meirion Owen's Quack Pack is a hilariously entertaining duck herding demonstration that is sure to entertain visitors of all ages.
Meirion is a regular on TV and has appeared in three series of the very popular BBC programme 'One Man and His Dog.'
His demonstrations are designed to showcase the amazing talents of border collies and the communication between handler and dog. The show is also interactive, allowing hands-on adult and child participation.
Meirion provides his own humorous commentary throughout as he uses a combination of commands to guide his dogs and cooperative (and sometimes uncooperative) Indian Runner ducks around a course that includes tunnels, slides and pens.
Sheep Show
The woolly stars of The Sheep Show will be hot-footing it to this year’s Cheshire County Show.
Nine breeds of sheep will be introduced to the audience by New Zealanders Richard Savroy and Stuart Barnes to give a full and educational look at different breeds of sheep with the emphasis on wool.
The Audience will meet "Nobby” the Norfolk Horn standing centre stage, flanked by "Susie” the Southdown and their woolly friends. The show includes the famous, ‘Sheep Show Shuffle’ and the fascinating live sheep shearing demonstration.
The show is fun for all ages to learn about the attributes of wool and how from the sheep’s back becomes a jumper to wear.
