Cheshire Show freezes ticket prices

CHESHIRE Show organisers are helping people to beat the recession blues by freezing ticket prices from last year.

 

Prices for the two-day event at the Cheshire County Showground at Tabley, near Knutsford, will be kept the same as last year to make sure people looking to save their money do not have to miss out.

 

"The credit crunch has left many families looking for more affordable days out and we feel that it is more important than ever to offer the best possible value for money at this year’s show,” said Cheshire Show Executive Director Nigel Evans.

 

This year for the first time the show, on June 19 and 20, will include a 4 x 4 course in the Gallagher Mitsubishi Countryside Experience Area where visitors can enjoy a thrilling off-road driving experience.

 

A special guest at this year’s show is the only female winner of the TV programme One Man and His Dog, Katy Cropper, who will be demonstrating her impressive skills by duck and geese herding.

 

One of the UK’s leading quad and motorbike riders, Jason Smyth, will perform a heart-stopping show in the Main Ring where there will also be music from the Scots Guard Association Pipe and Drum Band.

 

"We have got some great new attractions this year in addition to the thousands of animals being shown and judged and other crowd favorites such as the Roberts Bakery Food Hall and the Sainsbury’s Agri-Centre,” said Nigel.

 

"We have decided to freeze our ticket prices because it is important that the show continues to engage with the public. Despite the economic difficulties of the last few years our attendances have risen to over 80,000 people which proves we must be getting the balance right.”

 

Advance tickets cost £14 per adult, £11 for concessions, £6 for children and £30 for families.
