Cheshire Show prepares for royal visit ORGANISERS of this year’s Cheshire County Show are preparing to give a warm welcome to HRH The Countess of Wessex.
Her Royal Highness will visit the showground on Tuesday, June 19, taking in all of its attractions.
Tony Garnett, Chairman of the Cheshire Show, said: "It is a great honour to be able to welcome The Countess of Wessex to the Cheshire Show, especially in such a special year with The Queen’s Diamond Jubillee.
"It is now 12 years since we have had a Royal visitor so we are very much looking forward to having her here.”
The Countess is a well known supporter of agricultural events like the Cheshire show.
At the National Conference of the Association of Shows and Agricultural Organisations (ASAO) last year, The Countess said agricultural shows play a crucial role in bringing people from urban areas and the countryside closer together.
"The Cheshire County Show plays an important part in educating the public on agricultural issues and brings people together from every corner of the county.
"The Countess is a great ambassador for our countryside and I hope she is impressed by all of our efforts this year,” said Tony Garnett.
