Public encouraged to supply historic Cheshire Show photos for Exhibition A SPECIAL exhibition of photographs, celebrating more than 150 years of history, will go on display at this year’s Cheshire Show.
Organisers are appealing to the public to share their memories of the Cheshire Show by sending copies of their old photographs from previous events.
All photographs will be displayed at the Cheshire Show on June 19 and 20 and will help to piece together its long history while allowing regular visitors to enjoy a trip down memory lane.
Nigel Evans, of the Cheshire County Show, said: "The show has such a rich history and there have been so many highlights over the years. "I am sure there are many people in Cheshire and beyond who have pictures hidden away in their lofts that we would love to see and share with visitors this year.
"It would be great to see photographs of some of the show’s most famous or royal visitors, star attractions and unusual exhibitions. But it would also be nice to see photographs of people and families just enjoying the day.”
The oldest picture submitted and a selection of the most interesting will be chosen by a panel and the winners will receive a pair of tickets to the show to see the display and sample the other exciting attractions on offer.
To submit a copy of your photograph to the exhibition please email [email protected] under the subject title ‘Cheshire Show photo exhibition 2012’ including your name, address and a contact telephone number as well as a brief description of what year the photo was taken, what the image is of, and where it was taken.
Alternatively please post your entry with the same details to: 11 Road One, Winsford Industrial Estate, Winsford, Cheshire, CW7 3PZ and write Cheshire Show photo exhibition 2012 on the envelope.
